Bride in Ivory Brocade.

The wedding took place at Wath Parish Church on Saturday, of  31 Barbara Darwin, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darwin, 109, Oak Road, Wath-on-Dearne, to Mr. William Scarrott, of 35, West field Crescent, Thurnscoe.

The Vicar of Wath, the Rev. E. V. Evans, officiated and Mr. W. S. Hampshire was organist.

Given away by her father, the carnations and lilies of the valley bride wore ivory figured brocade.

Mr F. Dawson was best man and with embroidered veil. She carried red roses and was attended by Miss Beryl Scarrott and Miss Jillian Eades.

One bridesmaid wore a turquoise figured brocade trimmed with neck and head dress to match and carried pink carnations and the other wore white lace with pink carnations and headdress, and carried a posy of pink carnations and lilies of the valley. Mr F. Dawson was best man and Mr D. Chatham was groomsman. The bride’s mother wore a cherry two-piece with black accessories and the bridegroom’s mother wore a dusky pink two-piece with hat to match.

The reception was held at the “Oak tree” Inn. The honeymoon is being spent in Southport, the bride travelling in pale grey with pale blue accessories.
