Wedding: Beardshall & Oxspring

The wedding took place at St. Peter’s, Hoyland, on Monday of Miss Muriel Oxspring, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Oxspring, Brook Street, Prospect, Hoyland, and Mr. Harry B. Beardshall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Beardshall, Thurnscoe, the Rev. W. Ian G. Moffatt officiating.
The bride is well known in the Hoyland district and belongs to an old local family. She was given away by her brother, Mr. George Oxspring. Her dress was of blue crepe suede trimmed with silver, and she carried pale pink carnations. The maids, Misses Doreen Oxspring and Muriel Beardshall, wore green and lemon floral georgette with black picture hats. and carried carnations.
Mr. W. Wainwright (Wombwell) was best man, and Mr. C. Ward (Thurnscoe) groomsman. Atter a reception at the home of the bride’s parents the couple left for Scarboro’. The bridegroom presented pendants to the maids. The bride has been employed by the Barnsley British Co-operative Society and her fellow workers presented to her an oak clock and an eiderdown. She has been prominent member of the Co-operative dramatic society, the members of which presented to her a tea service.
