Cup for Dickie Inkles
I am told a delightful story concerning young Dickie Inkles. A Sheffield gentleman, who desires to remain anonymous, sent over to the garden party at Thurnscoe, where Cuthbert and others sparred, a handsome silver cup.
“To show my admiration for Dickie Inkles,” as he wrote
Inkles, who bears a remarkable facial resemblance to Jimmy Wilde, was presented with the trophy and I congratulate him and the giver.
Dickie is one of the best little “paper-weights” in England. What a pity he had to return to the pit through lack of contests!
He is anxious and ready to accomodate anybody in England at something round about 7 st 10 lbs I believe.
