The loss of six horses through accidents since May, 1926. and loss of trade on account of the coal stoppage of last year, were said by George Burrell, carter and fish hawker, of 80, Church Street, Thurnscoe, to be the cause of his financial failure.
Burrell said that latterly Lord Halifax had lent him a donkey and cart free of charge for the purpose of carrying on his fish round. Burrell had assets estimated at £4 to meet £137 worth of liabilities. His examination was closed.
