Rector of St. Helen’s Church, Thurnscoe the Rev. D. E. Hughes and Mrs Hughes cut a birthday cake at a Mothers Union party on Tuesday to celebrate the Rector’s 70th birthday. Among the visitors were 91 year old Mrs Poundford and 88 year old Mrs Amos, both of Thurnscoe.
Mr Hughes has been rector of St Helen’s for 15 years
