Street Betting At Thurnscoe
James Noon, bookmaker, Goldthorpe, was charged at Doncaster on Tuesday with street betting at Thurnscoe at 1-80 p.m. on Saturday, July 90.
P.c. Stones said he was in plain clothes and kept Noon under observation for 90 minutes. He was apparently taking betting slips. Witness took him to the police station and found 89 betting slips on him, comprising 443 bets; a paying -out slip; and £12, 11s 6d._
The Bench fined Noon it being his first offence, and allowed the return of his slips so that he could pay out.
