Married By Her Brother

Miss Florence Hesketh, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hesketh, of 50, Park Street, Wombwell, was married at Church Street Methodist Church, Elsecar, on Thursday to Mr. Harry Metcalfe, second son of Mr. and Mrs. James Metcalfe, of 45, Stuart Street, Thurnscoe.

The wedding ceremony was performed by the brother of the bride, ,the Rev. W. R. H. Hesketh, of Wombwell, who is now employed on the clerical staff at Cortonwood Colliery, but is about to enter on active work in the Methodist Ministry.

The bridegroom formerly lived at Elsecar and is well known in that district. Mr. T. Skews was at the organ and the service was choral. Given away by her father, the bride wore a model dress of blue, with blue halo hat and veil and white gloves. The bridesmaids were Miss Edith Hesketh, sister of the bride, in blue dress, trimmed with blue velvet, with hat, shoes and gloves to tone; and Miss Clara Metcalfe, sister of the bridegroom, in pale blue dress with navy blue coatee and navy hat and shoes. Their bouquets were of white chrysanthemums and fern.

The best man was Mr. Arthur Metcalfe, brother of the bridegroom, and the groomsman Mr. Jack Hesketh, brother of the bride. At the reception at the home of the bride. Mrs. Hesketh wore a fawn tweed costume, with hat to tone, and Mrs. Metcalfe a floral silk dress and grey hat.
