Thurnscoe Men’s “Rummy.”

Six Thurnscoe men, William Scott, Arthur Wood, Thomas Martlow, miners, John Measham (16), Fred Robinson (16) and Jack Pickford (16), pit hands, were ordered to pay the costs at Doncaster on Saturday for gaming with cards at “rummy” at Clayton.

They admitted the offence, and the Chairman Ald. G. Probert told them they ought to find something better to do on Sunday afternoons.
