New headquarters for the Brampton Home Guard were opened on Saturday by Col. M. C. Mertyn, D. S.O., M.C.

Mrs. Sarah Ann Smith, of Victoria Road. Barnsley, a former Mayoress of Barnsley, widow of Mr. Herbert Smith, late president of the Yorkshire Mineworkers’ Association and of the Miners’ Federation of Great Britain, left £2,735 (net personalty £2,681).
Mr. Horace Williams, son of Mr. Tom Williams, M.P. for the Don Valley and Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, and Mrs. Williams, was married in London on Saturday to Miss Mary Morrison, daughter of the Home Secretary.
