Inspired By ‘Pictures.”
A confession that his method of breaking into a dwelling house was inspired “by the pictures” was made by a 13-years-old Thurnscoe boy who, at the Doncaster West Riding Juvenile Court on Tuesday, was charged with entering a dwelling house and stealing a locket and chain and other articles.
Inspector Moron described how the boy climbed on to the roof of his own home, through the cock-loft, taking with him a rope and his mother’s steps. Using the steps, he crossed to the next roof and lowered himself into the house through the loft door, after tying the rope to a beam. He stole the articles named and climbed up the rope back on to the roof. Enquiries were made and he admitted the charge.
The boy’s father said he had stopped him going to the pictures since the offence was committed.
The boy was bound over for twelve months.
