Hickleton had the slope in their favour in the first half, and it was only sturdy defensive tactics by the visitors that kept them from having a greater lead than three goals to  nil at the interval. The scorers were Fisher and Barden (2).

The second half was more evenly contested, and persistent efforts on the part of Rawmarsh i ultimately got their reward, Chapman notching  a clever goal. This roused Hickleton greater efforts, and the issue was never in doubt.

Result;—Hickleton, 3 goals; Rawmarsh Albion. 1 goal
