’Bus Turns Over in Hedge Bottom.
Lucky Escape of the Driver.
17 Persons Taken to Hospital.
The Great North Road at Red House, about four miles north of Doncaster, was the scene of a serious motor ’bus smash yesterday afternoon, which necessitated the conveyance for treatment to Doncaster Royal Infirmary of 17 persons.
They were:—
Mrs. Mary Beasley (29), of 3. Strathmore Street, Rowlands, Newcastle—injury to head and right leg.
Mrs. E. Lawton, of 33, Windsor Street, Thurnscoe—shock and injury to head. John Lawton, her husband, minor shock and scalp wounds,
Willie Lawton (9), the son—injury to right shoulder.
Robert Dodds (22), of 26, Wood Row, Trogzall, Newcastle shock and scalp wounds.
Wilfred Parsons (46), of 3, East Gate, Barrowbridge—injury to face.
Margaret Dodd (64), Warwick Fell, Chester-le-Streetr—shock.
Mrs. Constance Schofield (27), of 56, Herbert Street, Newcastle—injury to leg and left arm.
Uriel Schofield (3), her daughter—shock and head injuries.
Joseph Luggatt (36), of 19, Lancaster Street, Thurnscoe East—shock and face injuries.
Herbert Bailey (52), Rowlands Gill, Durham—shock and face injury.
Naomi Bailey (4), his daughter—shock. Herbert Bailey (2), his son—shock and cuts.
Fred Horswell (31), ’bus conductor
