Rossington Main gained a creditable victory over Thurnscoe. The visitors are a good team and played interesting football, particularly the first hall. They should have scored again and again, for opportunities were plentiful. Somehow these went astray and many good chances were missed. It looked the first half would goalless but Jones got through for Rossington just before the interval.

In the second half Thurnscoe fell away somewhat. Jones and Cummings increased the Rossington score. All Thurnscoe’s efforts faded materialise and they had to return home disappointed. Rossington played well throughout and deserved an even greater victory.
