In the past Susan Tattersall has won two beauty competitions at Butlins, the Miss Maid Marion 1969 title at St. Leonards and many other cups and medals for beauty competitions and dancing. This year she had hoped to be a Coal Queen competition contestant.
Susan (18), 189 Doncaster Road, Goldthorpe, wanted to enter the competition last year but was a little too young. A former pupil at Dearneside Secondary School Susan has modelled for Ken Ellis, the well-known Goldthorpe photographer, the Weston Club, Doncaster Camera Club and Dearneside School Camera Club.
She is a student nurse at the Kenwood training College near Sheffield. Susan has also entered for the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce “Doncaster Week Queen” title in June.
Her father, Fred, works at Hickleton Main Colliery.
