Chilled Meat Banned
Mining Township’s Meatless Week End.
Thurnscoe has had a meatless week end, and the community have borne the ordeal without any undue signs of complaint.
It was the township’s turn for chilled meat, but this was late in arriving, and when it came to hand on Saturday morning was decided that it should returned.
As a result the butchers’ shops were minus the usual Sunday joints, and in the quest for something else to tide over the period fish, bacon, ham, and were in great demand.
