In Local editions last week we looked at Thurnscoe Comprehensive School—Dearne’s “mini university”—which is just completing its first year. This photograph gives an impression of the magnificent sports hall (the first to have heating installed).
It contains four full length practice cricket pitches with matting and nets, four badminton courts and a handball court. Adjoining are shower facilities.
Other sports facilities Include, in the school grounds, an all-weather football pitch (incorporating a 100 metres track) eight tennis courts and long, high, and hop-step-and-jump tracks and pits.
