Lost On The Way.
Sheffield Orchestra’s Late Arrival at Concert.
Twenty members of the Abbeydale Orchestra had a rather discomforting experience when they visited the Thurnscoe Wesleyan Central Hall during the week-end. The driver of their motor-bus missed his way, and found himself at Rawmarsh three times before reaching Thurnscoe.
The orchestra arrived nearly hour late for the concert, but they found a patient audience awaiting them.
At the close an enjoyable performance during which solos were given by Mr. Angus Jones and recitals by the Rev. F. Chorley—the conductor of the orchestra rebuked someone in the audience for reading newspaper during a recital.
