Costly Sunday Drinks

At Doncaster, on Saturday, Albert Hart, Edward Jubb and Frederick Chaplin, colliers of Goldthorpe and Thurnscoe were charged with having falsely represented themselves as glorified travellers on Sunday, February 7 and so secured drinks at the Plumpers Arms, Barmbro’.

The men made the statement that they had slept at the Mail Coach at Doncaster, the previous night, but this house had been pulled down.

The police made inquiries and found that they had slept at Goldthorpe.

Jubb and Hart were each fined 25 shillings inclusive, and Chaplin 20 shillings inclusive.
