Doncaster District Assault Charges

.At the Doncaster West Riding Police Court to-day several cases of assault took the time of the Bench. Annie Grant and Annie Elizabeth Grant, of Swinton Road, Mexborough, were complainants against Alice Edwards and Jane Slater, but the case was dismissed.

William Thomas Roper, of Thurnscoe, appeared in court with swathed scalp to prefer a charge assault against Elizabeth and Edward Jones. The men had a fight, and the woman threw bottles, etc., complainant, making several “shots” that hit his face.

Both defendants were fined 10s. and costs.

Eliaabeth Hickman, Joseph Hadley, and Mary Evans were summoned for assaulting Jane Evans. All the parties hailed from Bolton-on-Dearne. Defendants were each fined 20a.
