Drunk on the Highway

Robert Price, bricklayer, Thurnscoe, was summoned for being drunk on the highway at Thurnscoe on the 11th inst.

Defendant did not appear.

The service of the summons was proved and PC Dobson stated that at 12.15 on Tuesday, the 11th of the present month, he saw the defendant on the highway at Thurnscoe drunk. He lay across the footpath. Witness requested him to get up. Defendant was unable to do so. A man came and lifted him up and took him in the direction of his home.

The Bench imposed a fine of 15 shillings, including costs
