The engagement is announced of Mr. C. Jackson Smith, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, “Merck,” High Street, West Melton, to Miss Catherine Clark, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Clark, of Scawsby Doncaster, , and formerly of Thurnscoe.

Mr. Smith, a former of Wath Golf Club, is secretary of the firm of Messrs. Edward Smith and Sons Ltd. He is a member of Mexborough Rotary Club.

Miss Clark is a member of Wheatley Hills Tennis Club.
