For Ministry
Mr Jack Foster (23) Hanover Street, has been accepted as a Minister and will enter a college for his final training in September.
Mr Foster, who was brought up in Thurnscoe, where his parents still live, is at present a pastor at Folkestone.
For two years he has been gaining experience of Methodist work. A former member of the Central Methodist Hall Sunday School he received Methodist instruction from the Rev Henderson and for three years attended Cliff College.
It is no small honour to Thurnscoe that this local boy, son of an unemployed miner, should be accepted by the conference. Only 70 were accepted out of more than 200.
Mr. Foster will be returned to Thurnscoe for an holiday during the next few weeks
