Game Trespass at Thurnscoe.

Noah Blunt, a Thurnscoe miner, did not appear in response to a summons charging him with having trespassed in search of game at Thurnscoe, on February 23rd.

Mr. C. W. Hall appeared for the prosecution, the summons having been taken out at the instance of John Bailey, a gamekeeper.

Mr Hall said the above of which the defendant was guilty was that of setting snares.

Police constable Hughes stated that he was in company with the keeper watching, when he saw the defendant come from the direction of his home to where snares were set. The keeper spoke to the defendant, and the latter used bad language. When the summons was served, the defendant said he pleaded guilty of the charge, and he did want the keeper to be too revere on him.

A fine of 20 s including costs was imposed.
