Masterful Hickleton Batsmen.
Arthur Senior’s Bright Effort.
Hickleton 215 for 6 Monckton 88
The Monckton bowling was completely collared at Thurnscoe on Saturday and Monckton were trounced by 127 runs after Hickleton had declared with only 6 wickets down.
Arthur Senior (picture) played an entertaining innings in which he got 90 in 2 hours without giving any chances. He was run out when within reach of the century. The Monckton batsmen could make nothing of Clarke and Longley, who bowled with dead-iy effect. Longley took 5 wickets for 19 runs and Clarke 5 for 27. It. was a notable performance for Hickleton with Dennis out of the side, and, an indication of the strength of the Hickleton club’s resources this season
