Yorkshire’s first match with the the West Indies at Sheffield was spoilt by the weather, so the return game, starting at Headingley today, will, if uninterrupted, be.the only real test between the White Rose side and the tourist.

So far the visitors have only been by Ireland, which they fielded their weakest side, and England in the Test match.

Yorkshire will be out to achieve the of being the first County side to lower there colours.

The Yorkshire team will be of unusual interest in this match, because it will be led Wilfred Rhodes, in the absence of Captain Worsley,, who unable to play-

Rhodes as his own ideas about how the Yorkshire bowling should be handled and it will be interesting, for instance, to see how he uses Dennis, who I thought bowled very well at the Lane against Notts.
