Manure Stolen From Field
Stating that he wanted it for his garden, James Ascroft (32), miner, Thurnscoe, pleaded guilty at Doncaster, on Saturday, to stealing sixpenny-worth of manure belonging to William Thompson, Clayton farmer.
Defendant was seen by P.c. Slater, on August 2nd, in a field in Hickleton Lane, Clayton. He had a barrow on a footpath but defendant was about two yards in the field.
Defendant over in £5 for one year.
