Mexborough and Swinton Times October 11, 1929

Dr. J. A. R. Lee, President of the Mexborough Musical Festival, presenting to Mr. E. A. Smith, conductor of the Thurnscoe Harmonic Male Voice choir, the first prize in the male voice class last Saturday. This choir was warmly praised by Professor Granville Bantock  , and received the highest marks of any choir in the Festival.
