New Colliery at Thurnscoe

I am informed that a new colliery will in all probability shortly be commenced in the neighbourhood of Clayton Lane, which is situate in the centre of the coal bed at Thurnscoe.

Proposals to purchase the coal bed have recently been made to some of the proprietors of land thereabouts, and at much as £300 per acre has been given.

Several capitalists are interested in the matter, and I imagine a company will be floated.
