On Talent Trail.

Twenty-three-years-old civil servant Mr. John Pownall, of 164, Houghton Road, Thurnscoe. has never before entered ,a talent competition, but last week, while staying at Butlin’s Holiday Camp, Filey, he entered and won a preliminary heat of “The People”- National Talent Contest with a piano selection of popular tunes.

If he is successful in the Camp Finals later in the year he will go on to the Area Finals to be held at either Butlin’s Metropoles Hotel, Blackpool or at Butlin’s Cliftonville Hotel, Margate.  Should he again be successful he will automatically qualify for the £50 prize given to all finalists.

The Grand Finals will be held at one London’s largest Theatres.
