One Dead, Three Hurt In Crash

A Thurnscoe man it was killed and three people were injured in an accident in Doncaster road, Marr, on the main Doncaster-Barnsley road, last night.

The dead man was Alan Champion (19). 7. Britton street, Thurnscoe, who was riding a motor cycle with Stanley Gregory (19), 31 Westfield avenue. Thurnscoe, pillion passenger.

The cycle came into collision with a two-wheeled pony cart in which were Samuel Broadhead of Willow Bridge, Doncaster, and Miss Alice Weed.

A lorry driver, who came the scene soon after, heard groans and found the pony and cart in a ditch by the roadside and woman pinned by her legs between the cart and the wall.

Dead on Road

A few yards away Champion was lying dead on the road. The two injured men were lying the grass verge.

An ambulance conveyed the injured people to Doncaster Royal Infirmary and the dead man was taken to Bentley Mortuary stop

Later last night Miss Alice Wood was discharged and the two other were reported to be not seriously hurt.

The pony escaped unhurt.
