Pit Hand Killed

A pit hand, Fred Birkinshaw, Church street, Thurnscoe, was killed in the pit by  a “fall” caused by a pony knocking a prop out of its place.

Accidental death was the verdict returned at an inquest at Doncaster, yesterday.
