The Council Stars

Alban Turner, who played for Yorkshire in 1910 and 1911, and is now 52 year old, performed one of the outstanding feats in yesterday’s club cricket.

Playing for Hickleton at Pontefract, in the Yorkshire Council, Turner bowled 20 overs to take six wickets for 52, and followed with an undefeated innings of 68, of which 66 were made in boundary shots.

He and J. Routledge (39), who hit five 4’s, put on 98 runs for the first wicket, and Hickleton won nine wickets.
