Proposed for County Council

Mr. John Parker, a member of the Thurnscoe Urban District Council, has been proposed as a candidate at the County Council election in March, in the new electoral division of Darfield, which includes Thurncoe and Houghton.

The Y.M.A. branches at Mickleton Main, Darfield Main, Houghton and Dearne Valley, and     the Labour Parties at Thurnscoe and Great Houghton, and the surface-workers of the Hickleton Main Colliery are ready to support him, and a meeting for his formal adoption will probably be held this week end.
