10—Mr. George Baker, O.B.E., Swinton, managing director, Baker and Bessemer, installed president, Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.
12—Sportsmen’s annual service inaugurated at Wombwell Parish Church.
14—George William Barber, grocer, Mexborough, killed, and Ernest W. Cutforth, retired farmer, Wroot, fatally injured in collision between motor car and lorry at Rampton cross roads, near Retford.
23—Mr. G. E. Adey appointed commercial manager, Manvers Main Collieries.
Celebrations of jubilee of St. George’s Church, Jump.
27—Bolton U.D.C. held public inquiry into alleged irregularities at Welfare Ball at conclusion of Operatic Society’s performance.
28— Remainder of Captain F. J. 0. Montagu’s local estates offered for sale by auction at Doncaster.
29— County bench at Doncaster dismissed charges of embezzlement against officials of Manvers Main Natural Death Fund, on ground that Fund had for years been wrongfully used, but that there was no evidence that the men charged were more guilty than the rest of the committee.

30—High Mass sung by Bishop of Leeds in celebration of opening of the Roman Catholic Church of the English Martyrs at Mexborough.

2– Annual meeting and competitions of Yorkshire Fire Brigades Friendly Society, health the first time at Mexborough.
5– Only two members support a motion to discontinue customer of opening meetings with prayer.
7– Presentation of Mr H.E. Kelly, Editor, Mexborough and Swinton Times, on completion of 25 year’s service to the paper.

19– Conference of Wombwell, Wath, Bolton, and Thurnscoe Urban Councils approved agreement between the District Light Railway and Yorkshire Traction Company for coordination of services and pooling of revenue.
20—Reverend F Briggs, former Vicar of Mexborough instituted vicar of St James, Worsbrough Bridge.
24– Mr and Mrs Harry Mills and Mrs Martha Ellie, all of Mexborough, injured in collision between private car and bus at Edinburgh; Mrs Mills died.
26– Clayton, providing Thurnscoe East by Hickleton Main Colliery Company, formally opened.
