Sale of Work at Thurnscoe

With a view to raising funds to defray the cost of cleaning and tuning the organ, and for other church expenses, an attractive sale of work was held yesterday, in the new schoolroom connected with St Helens Church, Thurnscoe and the effort was very successful.

Tea was also provided, and afterwards an interesting and attractive program was given by Mr T Hitchin, of Sheffield, by Mr Hugh Logan, and a musical sketch entitled “Jesse’s Dream” (by kind permission of Abel Hayward and son), was rendered by a band of children under the direction of Miss M Peck.
