Savings Honour for Thurnscoe Head

A Well-Deserved honour has been accorded to Mr. J. E. Jones, energetic secretary of Dearne Savings Committee, by his election as National Saving Assembly member for the South-East Constituency and as a member of the Regional Schools Advisory Committee for savings.

Mr Jones w h o became Headmaster at the Thurnscoe Hill Junior Mixed School, during the war, has played a large part in revitalising the savings movement in the Dearne area and for the past 12 months h a s been savings constituency member for this area and his opening address on ta he school savings discussion at the annual regional conference at Scarborough this year evoked much favourable comment.

Mr. Jones is a native of Normanton, near Wakefield.
