She is a Boxer

A Thurnscoe neighbour’s quarrel was revealed at Doncaster, yesterday, when a case against Thomas Thomas, miner and his wife Mary Thomas, for assaulting Jonas and Lisa Mitchell was dismissed by the West Riding magistrates.

Mr Frank Allen, for defendant, asked Mary Thomas who began the row, whereupon indicating Lisa Mitchell she said, “That woman sir. She is a fighter, she is a boxer.”

Mr Allen: We had better produce her then, we have not many in England
