On Saturday we had the now unusual spectacle of a passenger train leaving Thurnscoe.

About 80 officials of the Hickleton Main Colliery visited the North East Coast exhibition at Newcastle on Tyne’

“Sinkers’ Feast.”

This week “Sinkers’ Feast,” the 35th anniversary of the reaching of coal at Hickleton Main. Owing to the fact that the colliery has had a run of four full working weeks the fair in Kingsway has been well patronised.
