Cpl. J. Allington (Y. and L.). son of Mrs. Hadley, King street, Thurnscoe. is reported killed in action on or about April 11.
A message of sympathy from an officer contains the passage:
“I had known Cpl. Allington for some considerable time for he had been in my platoon some months. and I always found in him the true spirit of a soldier!’
Cpl. Allington enlisted In 1914, and has served in France over three years.
He was previously employed at Hickleton Main
