Died in France
Mrs Blackwell, 62 Church Street, Thurnscoe has received official information that her husband Private Sam Blackwell of the K.O.Y.L.I. Regiment died in hospital in Etaples, France of chronic bronchitis and asthma.
He leaves a widow and 8 children.
Two of his sons are now out on active service in France, one of whom was wounded some time ago.
He joined the Army in October 1914, but had been out in France one month.
