Missing

Further news of their son, L/Cpl. Victor Ernest Gage (25), who was reported missing in April last year, is anxiously awaited by Mr. and Mrs. W. Gage, Tudor Street, Thurnscoe East.

L/Cpl. Gage was called up with the militia from the Hickleton Main Colliery, where he was a haulage hand, and was drafted to India three months later.

In one of his letters home, L/Cpl. Gage said that he was about to be moved, and from this his parents think that he was probably sent to Burma front, and may have been taken prisoner there.
