Private Horton, 8 Halsbury Avenue, Thurnscoe, was wounded on March 26, and is now in hospital in France, from whence he has written to say he is making reasonable progress toward recovery.

He enlisted in August 11.4, and has been serving in France since August 1915.

Before the war he was a prominent local footballer, and was identified with the Hickleton Main. Club.

His brother was recently killed in action.
