Thurnscoe “Veteran”

Pte. Jack Lowe joined the K.0.Y.L.I. Regiment at the age of 18, and since that time has travelled considerably.

He is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Lowe, of 19, Westfield Crescent, Thurnscoe, and has now had seven years’ service with that regiment. He has seen service in North Africa, Gibraltar, India and Burma.

Before the outbreak of war Jack came home on six months’ leave from Burma, but is back in harness again. He is an old scholar of Thurnscoe Council School, and formerly worked at Hickleton Main Colliery.
