Private Pooley, King Street, Thurnscoe has been wounded in France, and is in hospital in England.

He enlisted in September 1914 and before going to France saw service in the Balkans, where he was in hospital four times with malaria.

He has not had a home leave for four years.

Before enlistment he was employed at Houghton Main.
