Serving in the Far East.

Pte. Leonard Roper, K.0.Y.L.I., eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Roper, 71, Brunswick Street, Thurnscoe, is serving in the Far East. Before being called up in November, 1939 Pte. Roper, who is 22, was employed at Hickleton Main Colliery. He was drafted abroad soon after joining the Forces.
