Spacious New Modern Home for Caravans
Glentworth caravans of Thurnscoe, the caravan sales and hire business of Joe and Lena Gill, which has for several years been administered from their home, “Glentworth”. High Street, Thurnscoe will be moving to spacious modern premises in Lidget Line, Thurnscoe, this week-end.
Nine years ago Mr. Gill, whose main business interest is insurance broking, decided, with the help of his wife, to turn their interest in caravans into a business venture. They started by buying three cara-vans and hiring them to holiday-makers.
Since these rather modest beginnings business has improved steadily and Mr. and Mr& Gill have gradually increased the size of their fleet of caravans until their home and garden have become inadequate premises from which to administer their now rapidly-expanding company.
The size and potential of the business hare in fact warranted the construction of more spacious premises, for only by doing so can they provide the high standard of service at which they are obviously aiming.
Their new display and sales centre should do much to help to provide this service.
Work began on the centre, situated in the industrial development sites area of Lidget Zane, Thurnscoe, in November of last year and the total cost of the project has been in the region of £20,000.
The new showrooms are spacious, with room for some 30 caravans and numerous acctssories. Adjoining land provides space for a further 150 caravans.
Easy Access
The centre will, in fact, give the public the opportunity to inspect numerous different makes of caravan and accessories under ideal conditions. Motorists visiting the centre will have the additional services of a filling-station, another of Mr. and Mrs. Gill’s business enterprises, which is situated on land adjoining the centre.
