January 1907

Sheffield Evening Telegraph – Tuesday 22 January 1907

Sudden Death at Thurnscoe.

The death occurred this morning with remarkable suddenness of a Hickleton miner, named Daniel Tucker, aged about 28 years, and residing at Clarence Terrace, Thurnscoe East. Deceased, who was unmarried, went to bed, it is said, apparently in his usual health.

He still appeared alright when his brother, who slept with him, got up early in the morning to go to work, but on other members of the household going to the bedroom at about nine o’clock they found him dead.

Death is assigned to natural causes, and no inquest is necessary.
