Three Months’ Sentence

For Thurnscoe Soldier

Having been committed for trial from Halesworth Police Court, Pte. B. Inscoe (25), whose home is at 82, Church Street, Thurnscoe and Pte. Terrence Alan Hewgill (18) appeared on two charges at the East Suffolk Quarter Sessions at Ipswich on Friday.

The first charge was of breaking and entering the shop of John Cowles Reynolds, at Walberswick between September 3rd and 6th and stealing 18s 6d.  The other was in respect of breaking and entering the lock-up café of Miss Isobel Norman, at Walberswick, on the same occasion, and the theft of three packets of picture postcards, valued at 3s.

Both accused admitted the offences.

Inscoe was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. Hewgill being bound over to be of good behaviour for 12 months.
