Thurnscoe Child’s Death From Scalds

Mary Wolfinden (2), daughter of Arthur Wolfinden, brick drawer, Chapel Street, Thurnscoe, died in Barnsley Beckett Hospital, yesterday, from severe scalds.

The father was preparing a bath for Mary and her sister on Sunday. After he had poured boiling water into a tin bath in front of the fire, the children ran into the room, and Mary fell into the bath.
