Thurnscoe Family Links

The photograph shows the four generations of an old Thurnscoe family, of which Mr. John Beevors, of 38, Goldthorpe Road, Goldthorpe, is the head. Mr. Beevors is on the left.

With him is his eldest son Mr. J. Beevors, of 44, Windsor Street, Thurnscoe East, with his daughter, Mrs. M. Walker, of 8. Manor Square, Yeadon, seated nursing her baby daughter, Molly, aged 6 months.

Mr. Beevors, along with his wife, Mrs. Clara Beevors, resided in Thurnscoe for some 40 years, until quite recently they removed to Goldthorpe. They have four sons and three daughters, all married, and have 19 grandchildren.
